It’ll connect to your laptop you know your laptop is up to the job.

The surface pro (not the X) is an excellent tablet for CAD programs such as Solidworks, Solid Edge. You will want to purchase i7/16GB Windows 10 version and can be a little pricey but I have been using a surface pro since the Surface Pro 4 and excellent for mobile CAD and using a pen and carrying in a backpack daily, nice and light. If you purchase from Microsoft Business, support is excellent. They replaced my complete system after 4 years due to hardware problems. That is unheard of. If you are using it primarily as a desktop unit and not carrying it on a daily basis, you may want to go with a mobile work station from HP or the Surface book.

If it isn’t the Processor then the shitty video card isn’t able to process the program.
All in all.. do not buy the Microsoft Surface Pro for any CAD system.
On my one I found is AutoCAD online because your not downloading any program for the shit hardware to be weak and useless.
