I plan to look for a custom machine shop tool manufacturer in order to assess which kinds of devices I would need in my workshop someday. I’d like to be able to conduct restoration projects someday so it’s important to have the right tools.

You might want to try posting this questions on cadanswers.com. Someone should be able to help out there!

I am interested in getting a cnc for wood calligraphy cut outs.
I’ve been searching for couple of months now, but am very overwhelmed since I don’t have any experience in wood working and am illiterate when it comes to machinery.
I need a work area that is relatively large.
Any advice and recommendations where to start and forums available?
Thanks

I’ve just received my Whittle CNC machine and feel I have to defend the company.
Zach Adams responded promptly to all of my emails and the service I’ve received has been very good.
The machine works exactly as described and I am happy with WhittleCNC and, based upon my experience, would recommend the company to others.

I would ask that you take another look into Whittle CNC. The company seems to have gone MIA. The social media pages have been deleted or inactive for years. There are forums linked to his website that have been deleted. After searching we found the deleted forums. The conversations found there describe a a company that hasn’t produced a machine in years yet still collects payments as recent as February 2020. Many are from the original go find me contributors . They describe a machine that doesn’t work or simply never receiving a machine. One of the recent comments complain of the credit card being used locally in South Carolina. I appreciate your article and thank you for your help finding an inexpensive CNC machine. I’m just hoping to prevent someone else from being scammed by this person.

If you’re a beginner we’d recommend starting with a kit which you can build. Therefore the list of options in this post is a good place to start.

Since I am completely new to the CNC world, I would like to ask your advice about it. I have a 3D printer that I use a lot, but for some of my project I would need stronger parts made out of aluminum 6000 and 7000 series. I need for small parts, let’s say 10×10 x10 maximum. Do you have suggestion for a prebuilt or semiDIY (easier to assemble it) with 500 Euro? I am Europe. Thank you very much!
Alessio

Great! It’s certainly worth checking out both of those options. I would recommend speaking to both companies explaining what you’ll be creating. I’m sure they will advise you further.

I’ve never used a CNC machine but I need one badly. I make custom knives and I need a machine to cut out the handles, but also for engraving. Instead of traditional tracing with a diamond stylus, why not make a holder for my diamond stylus (spring tension) that would fit where my router is. This way I’m not limited to fonts Etc.
As long as I determine my start points Etc.
I’m considering the WhittleCNC or the MillRight CNC M3. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Almost all kits are designed to be suitable for hooking up to a PC running the applicable software. I’d advise reading the product description on the kit you’re purchasing to double-check compatibility but you should be fine with most.

Hey Samer, I would recommend searching for a ‘Jewellery Engraving CNC Machine’ there are a wide range available, even on Amazon. I wouldn’t be able to recommend a specific one.
