I draw in 2D – electrical diagrams of wiring and meters in commercial buildings for a non technical department to be able to verify meter readings for clients
i must get to understand GRID as some drawings you have multiple meters and modems on same floor so the repeated diagram must be spaced properly and i believe the GRID option will help me do this
ANY TUTORIALS THAT CAN EXPLAN THIS TO ME

I’d recommend asking Draftsight or AutoCAD related questions to the community at CAD Answers

When I open any of them in Draftsight the screen is blank. If I hit print the preview shows the drawing, so it’s there…. I also can’t see any line that I draw, etc…. Can’t find anything… Can you help?

The closest I can find is this DraftSight Getting Started book on Amazon.

Luke, you didn’t answer the question as to availability of printed Dassault’s official Getting Started guide, Ito would like to have that document.

We don’t but I would post questions like this to the community at CAD Answers.

Maybe a better solution would be to get a tablet like a Kindle? It’s the closest experience to reading documents without printing hundreds of pages.

I can’t tell you how many hundreds of hours I have spent trying unsuccessfully to trace over photo images on AutoCAD. Your guides are well written and illustrated. I like to have hard copies available, so I’ve printed them. Do you know anyone who sells printed copies of Dassault’s official Getting Started guide ? I don’t look forward to printing 180 pages on my printer.

Hey Allan!

Our software, Scan2CAD, is used for converting your designs (for example. images or vector pdfs) to a CAD/CAM format.

If I understand you correctly, you’re looking for 3D design software. In which case you might want to checkout SolidWorks

I am a tool grinder and it would probably be useful for doing drawings of cutting tools. I would be interested in learning how to draw a 3 flute spiral tap for instance. This would include all the dimension and different views on a template.
Could you please tell me if you offer a program to do this?
Thank you,
Allan
